About-Uttaradi Mutt
The Uttaradi mutt is one of the great Hindu institutions and is respected deeply by the Vaishnavas; the other Uttaradi mutt has a deep connection with our ancient philosophy; this mutt has preserved our Sanskrit literature and pursued Dvaita studies. This mutt has been a library and a source of historic Sanskrit manuscripts, Vedas, etc.
Uttaradi Mutt History
Uttaradi mutt has its history and spiritual significance. It is said that Lord Narayana himself incarnated as Shri Hamsa and embellished the honour called the Hamsa-Pitha.
This mutt is named after him as Hamsa is also called Uttara hence this mutt is named Uttaradi Mutt. Uttaradi Mutt simply means a mutt initiated by Shri Uttara. They also say that the first disciple of Shri Hamsa was Shri Brahma and he gave divine knowledge to him.
Shri Hamsa also gave Shri Brahma idols of Shri Ram and Sita to worship regularly in Uttaradi Mutt. Those idols were called Sri MoolaSita and Sri Moola Rama. Jagadguru Sri Madhvacharya has the original seat of Uttaradi mutt and according to reliable sources, Madhvacharya got this seat from Shri Achyuta Preksha. Achyuta Preksha From then on the traditional Vaishnav has been continuing the tradition till this day.
The current Peetadhipati or the Acharya who holds the supreme seat of this Mutt is Sri Satyatma Tirtha Swamiji who himself is from a scholar family and the 42nd Jagadguru in the spiritual succession of this mutt.
This mutt has many branches in Bangalore, Karnataka, Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh etc.
Uttaradi Mutt Mission
The main mission of this mutt is to spread the teachings and spiritual knowledge of Sanatana Dharma to the modern youth. Uttaradi mutt tries to save and preach our Dharma to people as much as possible
